WHAT WE ARE SELLING

What we are selling on the auction block fall into four categories, for the most part:

1) Paper that was discontinued by the paper mill. When this happens we have to pull it off our web site and any remaining paper goes onto the back shelves with no way to get rid of it. This paper is usually still in mint condition. The only thing usually wrong with the paper is that dust can settle on the side of the paper if it is not boxed properly. We consider this paper to be 98% to 100% usable for whatever project you have in mind.

2) We often have paper that was shipped to us and was damaged in transit. When this happens you will generally get paper that has a dinged corner or in the case of the colored glossy papers slight scratches (caused by the paper sliding against itself in the box). When this occurs it makes it impossible for us to sell it as full sheets and sometimes it is not worth it for us to salvage greeting cards and post cards from the remaining portion of paper that is undamaged. In this case the paper gets put aside and forgotten. Sometimes it is boxed or bagged and sometimes not. If it is not there is sometimes dust that gathers on the top sheet and a little on the sides. However, for the most part this paper is still in great shape.

3) We also have a lot of stock that comes to us from our retail shop. We have a store in a very small town and in many cases we are forced to by 12 or 24 of something. That is a large quantity to sell in such a small town. When the shop has overstock it is given to the auction to sell off. We generally give a small discount on those items. They are brand new and in perfect shape! These items usually show up in the category called Sale Table.

4) We are contacted by companies that have gone out of business or find that they have overstock. We usually get an incredible deal on these items and we pass the savings on to you. These are generally gifts from the crafting gods so snap them up!

RATING 1 TO 10

In our auction we rate our paper on a 1 to 10 scale to help you judge what the paper is worth. Here are some details on the rating system-

1= This paper is in bad shape and is dusty, bent, dinged, ripped, torn and should probably be used to grind up to make paper (we don't have much of this)

2=This paper is in bad shape and is dusty, bent and dinged and should probably be used in small pieces in collages or similar usage (we don't have much of this)

3=This paper is in bad shape and is dusty, crunched and discolored. It should be used in small pieces or as scrap paper (we do not have much of this)

4=This paper is probably discolored, dusty and the corners are dinged. It should be used in smaller pieces (we do not have much of this)

5=This paper may be a bit dusty and there may be a bend to the paper. Expect some sort of ripple to the paper which may/or may not relax when it is used. It should be used in small pieces if it does not relax (we do not have much of this)

6=This paper is dusty or has dirty hand prints on a few of the sheets, it may also be discolored a bit. There may be a ripple to the paper that will probably relax out when it is used (we have some of this)

7=This paper is actually in OK shape. It probably has dinged corners and may have some edge damage or a bend to it (we have some of this)

8=This paper is in darn good shape. It probably has one corner that is dinged and there may be a few dirty fingerprints or dust here and there. Overall you will get a lot of usage out of this paper and will most likely be pleased with the product (we have a lot of this)

9=This paper is almost sellable at full price except that one of the corners may be dinged or the grain is running in the wrong direction. You may also come across a sheet or two with a dirty fingerprint. Overall this paper is a great buy as you are getting almost a perfect product as a very reduced rate. A Great Deal! (we have a lot of this)

10=This product is sellable at full rate and is only on the auction because we no longer have the ability to market it through our web site. It is a great buy, jump on it! (we have a lot of this)

IMPORTANT NOTES

First- Many of the papers in this auction are papers that are normally carried in our on-line catalog (only they may be damaged in some way). Please spend the time before bidding to look at the scanned paper swatches of our on-line catalog as the colors are truer than the photos that were taken for the auction. If you have copies (even old ones) of our printed catalogs or swatchbooks then you are in great shape as you can see the actual swatches of some of the papers you may be bidding on.

Second- Don't get caught up in the bidding process and wind up paying more than the paper is worth. In some cases if you have not looked to see what the paper sells for in the on-line catalog you may end up paying more for the damaged stuff than you would for the perfect product. This would be silly so please take the time to do a little research at our web site http://www.CaliforniaPaperGoods.com

Third- The pictures/scans of the products are only so good in showing the true beauty and color of these papers. We do not make any guarantee that the paper you will receive will match the on-line photo. We have done our best to adjust the color to match but it still falls short in many cases. If you have questions on this point please E-Mail us.
